HELLO
My name is Aimeec, I am a born and raised Angelina. I have lived all my life in South East Los Angeles. Which is why I am very extremely passionate about helping underserved communities. I got to see and experience the limited resources underserved communities have. I also seen the health disparities that developed as a result. However, I have also seen my families health conditions immensely improve because of weight loss and nutrition education. Which has had a huge impact on why my goal is to become a registered dietitian. I STRONGLY believe that access to health care is a human right entitled to all.

As a dietetic technician I am responsible the safe preparation and delivery of human milk for NICU level 4 patients. I am also responsible for produced skim milk for chylothorax diagnosed patients with proficient centrifuge and creamatocrit operation. I help assist with multicenter study Prolacta the first 100% human based fortifier study. Received, inspected and tracked human milk. I am cross trained to assist with enteral formula preparation and patient clinical screenings.

COMMUNITY NUTRITION PHFE WIC

During my time with PHFE WIC I was in accordance with all Federal, State, and Public Health Foundation Enterprises policies and procedures, directs all WIC Center operations.  I developed high risk care plans for mothers, infants and children. I was responsible for enrollment, certification, and issuance of food instrument packages to WIC participants. I conduct individual nutrition assessments and education and breastfeeding education and support. I assisted with counseling, issuing formula insurance and state documents, assists with client appointments, refers participants to other service agencies.

RESEARCH/ HEATH EDUCATOR/ WEIGHT MANAGEMENT COACH (CHLA)
April 2018-November 2019
At Children's Hospital of Los Angeles as a heath educator and researcher, I was responsible for leading, recruiting, and organized T2DM pediatric community nutrition classes to children ages 10-20 and their family. I oversaw our community program’s volunteers. Classes consist of, food groups, portion sizes; sugar, food labels, fiber, dining out, markets tours, and parent support sessions. Also, responsible for planning exercise activities, parent support groups, and healthy food snacks demonstrations.
I was also responsible for recruiting participants for different studies and assisted in coordination of T2DM clinic multidisciplinary team. I was responsible for data collection and entry for research studies and registries. I also briefly assisted in spinning specimens.
As the weight management coach for the obesity clinic, I was responsible for communicating with patient and parents about medications, follow up appointments, referrals, resources families needed. I also, discussed with family their goals and communicated with doctors per patients plan of care.

DIET AIDE/ FOOD SERVICE

At USC Kenneth Hospital I was responsible for delivered meal trays, tube feeding, and supplements. I assisted with menus and patient orders based on patient diet. Ensured that all foods are at proper temperatures, labeled, and dated in accordance with regulatory guidelines. I was responsible for keeping supplements and tube feedings stocked.
